Frequently asked
How do I add a kid to my family? +
Open the Family tab and tap Add a Child, then fill in their name, email, password, and age range. You can also share the family join code from that same tab, and your kid enters it on the Join a Family screen. Either way a parent sets the account up: kids never sign up on their own.
My kid forgot their password. +
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and enter the email the account was created with. The reset link goes to that inbox, so if you used your own address when you made the account, the link comes to you.
What is a rotation? +
A recurring chore that moves between your kids on a schedule: daily, weekly, or monthly, or only on the days you pick. Trash night lands on one kid this week and the next kid after that. You get a preview of the whole schedule, you can pause a rotation and resume it later, and the dashboard carries a summary card. Rotations are part of Den, alongside the rest of the recurring schedules.
What happens when a chore is missed? +
In Settings, the family clock sets your timezone, the daily reset time, and the day your week starts. Anything still unfinished at the reset time moves to Missed. A parent then reviews it and either waives it, applies a points penalty, or reassigns it to another kid.
What are NFC chore tags? +
Small stickers you put where the chore happens: on the bin, the dishwasher, the litter box. A parent creates and manages the tags for a chore zone from inside the app, and a kid taps their phone on the tag to mark that chore done. Scans show up in the tag history, and it works on both iPhone and Android.
Will Chore Bear remind my kids? +
Yes, once a day at a time you choose, and only the kids who still have chores left get the nudge. Parents get a push when a chore is waiting for approval, when something is reassigned, or when a kid claims a reward. Everything also collects in the in-app notification center, which you can clear in one go.
Is there a dark mode? Can I lock the app? +
Appearance can follow your system setting, or you can pin it to Light or Dark. You can also lock Chore Bear behind Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone and iPad, or a fingerprint or face unlock on Android.
Does Chore Bear work offline? +
You can read offline. Open the app without a connection and you can still look through chores and rewards, with a "No internet connection" banner and a badge on anything that may be out of date. Changes need a connection: completing a chore, approving one, and claiming a reward all have to reach the server.
Can we use it on an iPad? +
Yes. Chore Bear runs on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones, and one family can mix devices freely. A parent on an iPhone and a kid on an iPad see the same family.
Do you support Android? +
The Android app is in testing, alongside iPhone and iPad. Public downloads are not available yet. Check availability and launch updates.
Can I transfer my data to another phone? +
Yes. Sign in with the same account on the new device and everything syncs automatically.
How do I cancel my subscription? +
On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Chore Bear, then Cancel. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period.
I want to delete my family's data. +
Visit our account deletion page or email support. You can also delete your account, or the whole family, from inside the app. Deletion is permanent and completes within 30 days.
